Kikyou: Family

Keiko Seta was born in Osaka, Japan, in the month of May. She grew up with her two loving parents, Kenji Seta and Tomoe Seta. Unlike her sister Yukiko, she didn't help her mother after school - she was spoiled and pampered, her only requirement was to pick daikon radishes from the garden each day. She didn't attend school, but was tutored by her mother each day until her sister came home. At fifteen her mother died, and she was forced to find work to move from Japan. At twenty two she moved to England, meeting her future husband William Smith. Yukiko changed her name from Seta to Aikawa then, refusing to have relations to her sister and elderly father in Japan.

William was a buisness man intent on his work, always shut in his study or taking important phone calls, for he isn't of magical heritage. Their relationship possessed no love - only physical enjoyments, which seen came to a halt as Kikyou Aikawa came to the world. Keiko wanted nothing to do with the child, so she hired a wetnurse and a nanny to care for her until she was twelve. Now Yukiko stays home catching up on the latest fashions in Japan, taking care of the home and 'teaching' Kikyou how to be a lady. However, once Kikyou is married she plans to have the girl disowned...Keiko was never the loving type.

William Smith was born to a middle-class, muggle family in London. He was raised by a single mother and distant uncle, attending a muggle school until he graduated High School. He met Keiko soon after in a cafe, striking up a one sided relationship - his feelings were genuine, while she loved him for his looks and his bed. He was the only one happy to know Keiko became pregnant months later, happy as his daughter came into the world. Eventually Keiko's icy treatment wore off on him, but only so. He takes Kikyou out to get icecream now and then, giving her hugs whenever he's out of his study and not working. However, his love only goes so far.
